Alchemy of the Sole

what lies beneath

making paint with stardust

This afternoon was the first snowfall of the winter season. Two of my favorite powerful goddesses were here for tea. Yesterday I learned of the passing of one my great inspirations and fellow children of the stars, David Bowie. That man is such a gorgeous force of spirit and what happens when a human alien embraces his beautiful freaky sexy brilliant artistry. In order to honor not only him, but my own freaky sexy dreams and desires, I knew art had to be made and supported. Today it seemed the best thing to do of course was to build a fire in the fireplace and sit on the ground around it and make some magic. I had recently received a box of herbs and spices. It was time to make paint.
This was my first foray into joining the rich history of making paint. As my intention is to use them on people's bodies I had been on a search to create a medium that is made of natural food based materials so that each paint has healing properties and will not irritate sensitive skin.
As so many many people before me, I used clay as my substrate. Today we used chlorella, hibiscus, turmeric, and schizandra berry powders.
Each plant has a distinct aroma which awakens within me powerful sense memories.
Each color is rich and full of the goodness of the earth.
The paints are now in glass jars on my altar amidst the stones, feathers and spirits.

May they become imbued with healing energies from the universe.
May the star man send stardust to bless us all.

first new moon

It is the first new moon of the new year.
I am searching for inspiration.
I am beginning to believe that I am on the right path. Not only believe, but embody.
This is my wish for this new moon... embodiment.
Let it roll around in my hands, heart, mind.
It smells of sandalwood and beets, dirt and sex and blood and spit and coconut.
It once was heavy upon my tongue, but today it is light with the air that I breathe.
I am only just sinking my teeth into its flesh.
To embrace and be in the power of the body.
My body is such a blessing to me, this new body of mine.
It will continue to evolve and manifest.
On my journeys today I met many new people with whom I hope to cultivate inspiration.
Nourishment for my feet to dance, my mind to soar, and my heart to blossom.

getting biblical

found this while researching feet in religious iconography. have fun! apologies, I cannot find the website this is originally from.

As the Word in the letter is natural, and by the feet are signified natural things, therefore the ultimate of the Word, like the ultimate of the church, is called the place of the feet of Jehovah, and also
the soles, which are under the feet, denote the ultimate things of nature. That under the feet here denotes the ultimate sense of the Word, which is the sense of the letter, is because it is said of the Divine truth or Word, which is from the Lord, and which is the Lord, as can be seen from what goes before; and the ultimate of truth Divine, or the Word, is such as is the sense of the letter, which is natural, because for the natural man. That the sense of the letter contains within it an internal sense, which is relatively spiritual and celestial, is evident from all that has been hitherto shown about the Word. but the more worldly and bodily a man is, the less he apprehends this, because he does not suffer himself to be raised into spiritual light, and thereby to see what is the nature of the Word; namely, that in the letter it is natural, and in the internal sense spiritual; for the nature of lower things, down to ultimate ones, can be seen from the spiritual world, or from the light of heaven

the glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir-tree, the pine-tree, and the box together; to adorn the place of My sanctuary; and I will make the place of My feet honorable (Isa. 60:11, 13)
